May 19 was Worldwide Food Revolution Day, an event started by celebrity chef Jamie Oliver to spotlight healthy eating. Jamie Oliver has been a huge advocate for local, seasonal eating and his cookbooks and cooking shows are among my favorites.
Food Revolution Day Spotlights Healthy Eating
Food Revolution Day is meant to inform and encourage the public to eat locally grown organic foods. While it’s not an entirely vegetarian event, the emphasis on local, sustainably grown and organic produce makes it very popular with vegetarians and many of the events held around the world are vegetarian in nature.
One of the key events of Food revolution Day is hosting a dinner or other party that’s focused entirely on these healthy foods. People around the world host thousands of parties, introducing their friends and families to a healthier, more delicious way to eat.

Alyssa Milano Turns the Spotlight on Vegetarian Baby Food
Alyssa Milano is just one of the celebrities her hosted her own Food Revolution Party, which was televised. For her party, she not only prepared a vegetarian meal, she also talked about and demonstrated preparing her own vegetarian baby food for her little one.
Everything I prepare at home is organic and this also goes for my baby Milo. As a mother, I am conscious about what Milo eats so I thought I would also share my menu for him and hope it inspires other mothers to prepare beautiful food for their little ones,” she said.
I think that preparing your own vegetarian baby food is a great idea Although I’m long past raising babies at this point, I would’ve loved to have tried it.
